Art Exhibit Policy

Morley Library welcomes local artists to exhibit their work in the library.  Two-dimensional art exhibits may be displayed on the first floor picture rail above the magazines on the south wall.  Approximately 28 feet of picture rail is available for exhibits.

Conditions of Art Exhibits:

The artwork will meet acceptable community standards.

An application for exhibits may be printed from the library’s webpage or picked up at the adult reference desk on the third floor.  The completed application should be mailed or submitted to the third floor Reference Desk.

All exhibits must be approved by a designated representative of the library.

Morley Library reserves the right to accept or reject the contents of a proposed exhibit.

Reservations will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Space may be reserved for one calendar month and only once in a calendar year.  Reservations may not be made more than one year in advance.

Artists may display a small sign on the wall on each side of the exhibit area indicating their name and contact information.  No items may be sold nor may prices be posted in the library.

The artist is responsible for the set up and removal of the display in a timely manner. Two-dimensional artwork may only be displayed using the picture rail.  Morley Library will supply picture hooks. Morley Library reserves the right to remove an exhibit that has been left past the reservation period.

Morley Library assumes no responsibility for the preservation, protection or possible damage or theft of any item exhibited.  All exhibitors will sign a form that releases Morley Library from any responsibility for exhibited items.

Permission to exhibit art work at Morley Library does not constitute an endorsement by the Morley Library Staff or Board of Trustees.
