Cooking Club

Monday, April 13th 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Kids ages 8 - 12 can learn how to prepare a different snack each month. No registration is required.

 

Chapter Chats

Ongoing, Tuesdays 5:30 - 6 p.m.

Keep your reading skills sharp with Chapter Chats! A new chapter (or two) is read aloud each week. Young readers can take turns reading and then chat about what the group has read. Designed for elementary grades first through third.

 

Paws 2 Read

Thursday, April 16th 4 - 6:30 p.m.

Relax and read to a dog in a cozy, pressure free environment. For Kindergarten through 4th grade, Registration is required. Sign up for your 15 minute time slot in person or by phone at (440) 352-3383.

 

Rescue Readers

Saturday, April 18th 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Be a rescue reader and read aloud to adoptable animals. Volunteers from the Lake Humane Society will give children the opportunity to play, visit, and read with adoptable kittens and then those kittens can be adopted if families so choose! Registration not required. For ages 3-12.

 

Dungeons & Dragons (Red Group)

Monday, April 20th 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Explore new worlds, battle fierce monsters, and make new friends as we all tell a story together while playing Dungeons and Dragons. The Third Monday of the Month is for our Red Group. Due to the structure of the game, a smaller group size is required, and registration is required for this event. For ages 8-12.

 

Homeschool Huddle

Thursday, April 23rd 1 - 2 p.m.

Come and get your hands dirty by planting seeds! We’ll start seeds for your garden while we learn about growing plants, composting, and more. For homeschool families. Registration is required.

 

Spring Into Art

Saturday, April 25th 10 - 11 a.m.

Little Artists, come explore the beauty of Spring through process art!

Process art focuses on the overall experience of creating something instead of making something specific. We’ll explore aspects of the season with Spring flowers and paint, so come dressed for a mess!

For ages 3-6. No registration required.

Duck, Duck, What?

Saturday, May 2nd 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Children ages 2-5 and their families. Come to our special Saturday storytime!

We'll read some silly duck tales, sing a duck ditty, dance with shaky eggs, and do a craft that will be just ducky!

 

Homeschool Huddle

Thursday, May 21st 12 - 2 p.m.

Join us for a picnic and nature walk at Helen Hazen Wyman Park in Concord. Bring a picnic lunch and footwear appropriate for a creek walk. For homeschool families. Registration is required.

Storytime at the Farmer’s Market

Join Morley Library for a fun outdoor storytime at the Painesville Farmer's Market! Look for the librarians and their colorful parachute at Veteran's Park on Thursday afternoons. No registration required. *Weather Permitting!*

 

Summer Reading Kickoff with Outback Ray

Saturday, June 6th 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Learn about the modern descendants of animals from millions of years ago as Outback Ray shows off his animals and tells fun and exciting stories about them from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.! You might even be chosen to hold a snake! Before or after the show sign up for our Summer Reading Program at the 2nd floor Reference Desk and receive a FREE registration prize while supplies last and play some dino-mite games!

 

Eco Art Explorers

Tuesday, June 9th - July 14th 1 - 1:45 p.m.

Families Join us! All ages welcome but designed for children ages 3-12.

Unplug at a local park and explore the beauty of nature through art! We’ll go on a mini-scavenger hunt to collect treasure like twigs and leaves, and then use our finds to arrange creations that are picture perfect but follow the outdoor ethics of “Leave No Trace”. Only photographs will be created. No artwork will actually go home.

Perfect for young curious minds who love the outdoors!

Touch a Truck

Are you wild about trucks? Get up close and personal! We will have an assortment of awesome trucks and vehicles on hand to explore in the parking lot behind the library, plus you can meet the pros who operate them!

Afterwards come sign up for Summer Reading on the Kid’s Floor! For ages 0-12.


Paint-A-Saurus

Thursday, June 18th 4 - 4:45 p.m.

Kids ages 9-12 will follow along with our librarian and learn how to use watercolors like a pro while creating a Prehistoric Portrait!

Browse the enclosures and pick out a new stuffed prehistoric pal to take home! Learn about your new friend's species, decorate a pet carrier to take them home in, and get an adoption certificate!

Browse the enclosures and pick out a tasty looking prehistoric pal to take home! Snack on some dino nuggets and try new sauces, decorate a nugget box to take them home in, and get an adoption certificate!

 

Amber Magnet Craft

Thursday, June 25th 4 - 4:30 p.m.

Create your very own fossil of a bug trapped in an amber magnet. Each child will get to create 5 magnets to take home. For ages 8 - 12. No registration required. 



Festive Fireworks

Wednesday, July 1st 11:15 - 11:45 a.m.

Celebrate America 250 with a festive firework painting! Dress for a mess! For ages 2-5. Registration required.

 

Dino Camp

Calling all young paleontologists! Join us for a roaring good time filled with prehistoric fun—dig for dinosaur bones, conquer a dino obstacle course, watch a lively dino puppet show, and experience an erupting giant volcano! This action-packed outdoor adventure is perfect for dino lovers of all ages. Don’t miss the excitement! For ages 2 - 12.
