The Summer Reading Club runs for 8 weeks and every day that your child reads for 20 minutes or more s/he will receive an entry for our big prize drawing! This 8 week program is open to all teens in grades 7-12. Reading can result in winning one of 10 prize packs! You can also win smaller prizes in our "Book in a Jar" contest, the "Amazing Race Library Scavenger Hunt", and "Book Bingo". Let's build a better world, together!
For many, summer is a time to relax, take a vacation, and catch up on your reading. We offer adults the opportunity to have fun, explore new interests, and interact with others for FREE by joining our summer reading program. We'll reward you for your efforts! There are prizes for signing up and a chance to win one of 5 great prize packs with each reading sheet turned in. Plus, you get to keep all the great crafts you make at Adult Craft of the Month classes!
Help start our indoor community garden. We'll have herb and vegetable seeds, and everything else you'll need to start your seedlings. After tonight, the planters will be moved to our "Grow"tunda on the 3rd floor. Adults and teens are welcome to help us tend the garden throughout the entire summer reading program. Please register.
Northeast Ohio Author Scott H. Longert is here to share his book No Money, No Beer, No Pennant: the Cleveland Indians and Baseball in the Great Depression. This is the story of the Cleveland Indians' - "the best team in baseball during the 1920's" - relentless quest for a pennant during the 1930's. Longert is a freelance writer, whose articles about baseball history have been published in the Cleveland Plain Dealer Sunday Magazine. Copies will be available for purchase and signing.
